Got Jokes Now: Melo Makes Crack About Cheerios

So…remember that time that Carmelo Anthony acted like he wanted to beat the brakes off of Kevin Garnett because Garnett allegedly told him that his wife LaLa “tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios?”

That just happened a week ago, but apparently it’s all water under the bridge now, because now, both LaLa AND Melo have been cracking jokes about it!

LaLa joked that Cheerios should be cutting her a check for the “free publicity,” but for some reason we thought it would take her husband a little longer to see the funny side of it (maybe because we watched Anthony waiting outside of the Celtic’s team bus for a piece of Garnett).

Apparently Melo’s not one to hold a grudge though.

At a launch for his new sneaker, the Air Jordan Melo M9, Anthony revealed that he was just ending his annual 15-day fast…and he was so hungry he would eat a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios!

“I’m definitely going to get a bowl of that,” he joked, “For sure!”

Anthony went on to explain that he customarily fasted at least once during the NBA season for “clarity.”

“It’s just for my own sake. Sometimes in life you need clarity in your life. You kind of want to replenish your body, build your body back, get all the toxins, unuseful things that you don’t need in your body out.”

That fast included abstaining from meat, breads, fried foods, and sugar.  So, although it hasn’t been confirmed what Garnett really said to him (Anthony refuses to say), we have heard enough to determine the REAL reason behind Anthony’s on court/off court feud with Garnett.  Think about it…at the time of their dispute, Anthony HADN’T EATEN any real food in 7 days!

That would make anyone snap.  Just sayin.
