Hollywood’s winning in the re-visitation of the Civil War era of American society … well except for the actors who play the actual slaves. They ended up with no nominations!
Steven Spielberg’s Civil War epic Lincoln led the Golden Globes on Thursday with seven nominations, among them best drama, best director for Spielberg and acting honors for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
Tied for second-place with five nominations each, including best drama are Ben Affleck’s Iran hostage-crisis thriller Argo and Quentin Tarantino’s slave-turned-bounty-hunter tale Django Unchained. Christpher Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio are up for Supporting role nods and Tarantino for Best Director.
Denzel Washington was nominated lead actor for his portrayal of a boozy airline pilot in Flight. But ABC’s Scandal and Jamie Foxx were both snubbed.
