Nas’ Concert Wages To Be Garnished To Pay Taxes

Damn, the tax man has been running through ALL the celebs lately!

Rapper Nas is the latest to feel the tax man reaching into his pocket.  The Georgia Department of Revenue is moving forward with their efforts to garnish over ONE MILLION DOLLARS from his income!

According to TMZ, the Georgia Department of Revenue has filed new legal docs in their attempts to collect $1,083,435 from Nas.  They claim he owes taxes from the years 2006, 2007, 2009,  and 2010.

Although a rep for Nas has said that the matter had been taken care of already, apparently the GDR didn’t get the memo.  They’ve issued an order to Live Nation – the concert promo company behind Nas’ current tour with Lauryn Hill – ordering Live Nation to garnish Nas’ concert income until his tax dept is satisfied.

Nas probably feels like the state of Georgia really has it in for him.  Last month he lost his house in Georgia to foreclosure.

If this is, in fact, one big misunderstanding, hopefully Nas can clear it up before the garnishment order goes through.  One million dollars is too big of a chunk to be taken out by mistake!
