Hey Jay-Z, Please Call Robert De Niro Back!

Are celebrities getting too sensitive? First CNN news reporter Don Lemon calls Jonah Hill “rude” for treating him like Viola Davis, and now Robert De Niro is overheard calling Jay-Z rude and arrogant.

According to the New York Post, The Godfather star Robert De Niro and hip hop mogul Jay-Z both attended Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday bash the other night, when De Niro was overheard calling the rapper disrespectful.

Witnesses say De Niro was upset that Jay-Z had refused to return his calls after agreeing to do a record for De Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival. Robert had reached out to discuss further details, but the rapper never returned his calls. We’re guessing he didn’t want to just license Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind.

The Post sources add that Jay-Z tried to joke his way out of the situation, and even Beyoncé tried to intervene. We can imagine the LOOK on Beyonce and Jay-Z’s face during the whole interaction. An eye witness said, “He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”

In the end, another source added, “It was a low-key private conversation between two people that was apparently overheard. It was not a heated discussion.”
