Royce Reed has decided to end her career as a reality TV (semi) star.
Shortly after season 4 of VH1′s Basketball Wives wrapped, rumors began swirling that VH1 was cutting three cast members: Royce, Jennifer Williams and Kesha Nichols. While the network did not comment on the reports at the time, Royce recently announced her exit from the show via Twitter.
“I was trying 2 wait till y’all saw it but ppl ask me everyday sooo I have NO IDEA whn BBW Miami comes back. I’m not on the next season,” Royce tweeted on Thursday, adding that she’s got other things to work on now that she’s off the hit VH1 reality show. “I have my dance company 2worry about & using my degree. Will def keep u updated on the NYC play, dance workout video & studio opening.”
It’s not clear whether Royce decided to leave the show on her own or if Shaunie O’Neal gave her the boot. However, it looks like all ties have not yet been cut for Royce and VH1. “Maybe now they’ll finally let me out of my contract,” she tweeted.
Royce doesn’t seem to be mad though. She thanked the network and BBW producers for all the good things that the show has done for her life.
“Although I’m not returning I do want to thank Shed Media & VH1 for giving me the opportunity to show who I really am (4 the most part) lol,” she tweeted earlier today. “W/o them I probably wouldn’t have the reach I do w/the young ladies I now work with. I am truly thankful & humbled by the voice u gave me.”
Good luck and Godspeed Royce.
