It’s been 10 years since Left-Eye died, and it’s just now that her surviving “sisters” in the group TLC, are finally moving on.
According to Rolling Stone, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins have announced their plans to record a new TLC album together, as well as a tour and a VH1 biopic of their lives. The new album will be the first TLC album since 2002′s 3D, which was released six months after Left Eye died, and features pre-recorded vocals from her.
According to T-Boz:
“We’re going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time. We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else. When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
Hmmm…I don’t know about this one. The VH1 biopic definitely seems watchable (especially since they’re casting other actresses to play them), but it’s been a MINUTE since Chili or Left-Eye have been in the studio, and the pop game has changed a lot in the past 10 years!
