Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts is a survivor! She woke up this morning tweeting out to her followers:
Truly is the dawn of a new day…
— Robin Roberts (@RobinRoberts) February 20, 2013
It’s been five months since Roberts left GMA to have a bone-marrow transplant to treat a rare blood disorder and today is her first day back! In addition to being greeted with a smile from her co-anchor, George Stephanopoulos, Roberts received well-wishes from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama!
“Good morning America and welcome back Robin,” Obama said. Robin,” Michelle Obama added, “we just want you to know that the whole Obama family — we’ve been thinking about you and praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way.”
Along with the Obamas, Robin was welcomed back by Ryan Seacrest, Barbara Walters, Alicia Keys, Gabrielle Union, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel and more!
We’re glad to see Robin has made such a remarkable recovery! Read the welcome back tweets below….
